Easy installation for beginners

Solid construction

The machining on this block is precise. It fits snugly into the heater carriage without any wobble. Temperature stability is noticeably improved compared to the stock part.

Works but runs hot

It functions as expected and fits the MK7 setup. However, I noticed it seems to retain heat a bit longer than my original, so I had to adjust my cooling fan settings slightly.

Good value, minor threading issue

Overall a great replacement part. The heat distribution is excellent. I had to tap the threads slightly to get the nozzle in smoothly, but once installed, it works flawlessly.

Perfect fit for my MK8 upgrade

Q: Is this compatible with 24V power systems?

A: Yes, this heating block is designed to accommodate standard 12V and 24V heater cartridges commonly used in MK7 and MK8 setups.

Q: Does this come with the thermistor installed?

A: No, the package includes only the aluminum heating block and mounting screws. You will need to transfer your existing thermistor or purchase one separately.

Q: How do I prevent the nozzle from leaking after installation?

A: Ensure you tighten the nozzle firmly against the internal shoulder of the block while the block is heated to printing temperature. This creates a proper seal.

Q: Will this work with a E3D V6 hotend?

A: This block is specifically shaped for Makerbot MK7/MK8 style extruders. While dimensions are similar, we recommend using parts specifically designed for the E3D V6 for optimal fit.

Q: What is the maximum temperature this block can safely handle?

A: The aluminum alloy used is rated for continuous operation up to 300°C, which covers most common filaments including PLA, ABS, and PETG.
