Good quality, fast heating
The heat distribution seems very even compared to my old block. It reached printing temperature quickly. I deducted one star only because the set screws included were slightly softer than expected.

Perfect fit for my MK8 upgrade
This aluminum block fits perfectly into my existing MK8 setup. The machining is precise, and the holes for the thermistor and heater cartridge are aligned correctly. No modifications were needed.

Works as advertised
Does exactly what it is supposed to do. It is a direct replacement for the stock MK7 block. Installation took less than 10 minutes. Good value for the price.

Solid construction
The aluminum feels dense and well-machined. Threads are clean, and it installed without any cross-threading. My print quality has remained consistent since swapping this in.
Q: Are the threads pre-tapped?
A: Yes, the M6 nozzle threads are pre-tapped at the factory. You should still exercise care when installing the nozzle to avoid cross-threading, especially on the first use.
Q: Does this come with a new nozzle?
A: No, this package includes only the heater block and the necessary set screws. Nozzles are sold separately to allow you to choose the specific size and material you prefer.
Q: Is this compatible with E3D V6 hotends?
A: This block is specifically designed for Makerbot MK7 and MK8 systems. While dimensions may seem similar, we recommend using blocks designated for E3D V6 to ensure proper thermal performance and fitment.
Q: Can I use this with PLA and PETG?
A: Yes, this heater block is suitable for all common filaments including PLA, PETG, ABS, and Nylon, provided your entire hotend assembly is configured for those materials.
Q: What is the maximum safe operating temperature?
A: The aluminum alloy used can safely withstand temperatures up to 300°C. However, always ensure your thermistor and heater cartridge are also rated for the temperatures you intend to use.
