True fine line quality
I've tried many technical pens, but the ZIG Manga series holds up best for detailed architectural sketching. The 0.3mm tip is precise and doesn't fray easily even after weeks of daily use.

Best investment for illustrators
As a professional illustrator, I go through dozens of pens. These Kuretake pens offer the reliability of much more expensive brands. The black is deep and opaque, perfect for scanning.

Great ink, cap could be tighter
The ink flow is smooth and truly lightfast as advertised. My only minor complaint is that the cap sometimes feels a bit loose if dropped, but otherwise, it's a solid pen for the price.

Perfect for comic inking
These pens are absolutely fantastic for manga work. The line is consistent from start to finish, and the waterproof ink means I can watercolor over my sketches without any smudging. Highly recommended for artists.

No bleeding on good paper
Used these on high-quality Bristol board and there was zero bleeding or feathering. The lines are crisp and clean. Will definitely be buying the full color set next.

Solid everyday carry pen
I keep one in my sketchbook bag at all times. It starts immediately without needing to shake it. Dried out once after leaving the cap off overnight, but that's expected with fine liners.
Q: Are these pens safe to use on fabric?
A: While the ink is permanent and waterproof, these pens are specifically designed for paper applications like manga and technical drawing. We recommend testing on a small fabric area first, but they are not marketed as fabric markers.
Q: Does the 0.3mm tip work well on rough watercolor paper?
A: The fine 0.3mm tip is best suited for smooth to medium-texture papers like Bristol board or marker paper. On very rough watercolor paper, the tip may catch or wear down faster.
Q: Can these be refilled?
A: No, the Kuretake ZIG Manga Fine Line pens are disposable and not designed to be refilled. Once the ink is depleted, the entire unit should be recycled according to local regulations.
Q: Is the blue color as dark as the black?
A: The blue is a vibrant navy shade, but like most colored pigment inks, it will not be as opaque or dark as the carbon black version. It is excellent for under-sketching or color work.
Q: How long does the ink last once opened?
A: If the cap is securely replaced after every use to prevent drying, a single pen can last several months depending on frequency of use. Always store horizontally for best results.
