Incredible architectural detail
This model is a masterpiece. The mortise and tenon design makes the structure incredibly stable once built. It took me about 15 hours to complete, but every minute was worth it. The instructions are clear, though patience is definitely required for the roof sections.

Educational and fun
My teenage son and I built this together. It was a wonderful bonding experience and taught us a lot about ancient construction methods without using nails or glue. Highly recommend for families who enjoy puzzles.

Challenging but rewarding
Do not underestimate the difficulty level. Some of the internal framing requires very precise alignment. I had to redo a few sections, but the final result looks stunning on my bookshelf. A great way to learn about traditional Chinese joinery.

Great complexity
As an experienced builder, I found the high difficulty rating accurate. The layered roofing system is complex but logical. My only minor complaint is that the sticker sheet for the decorative elements could be slightly higher quality, but overall a fantastic set.

Stunning display piece
The colors are vibrant and accurate to the real Forbidden City structures. The interlocking mechanism is satisfying to click into place. Make sure you have a large, flat surface to work on because the base is quite wide.

Best gift for history buffs
Bought this for my father who loves architecture. He spent the whole weekend building it and hasn't stopped talking about the engineering behind the corner tower. The plastic quality is excellent with no burrs or loose fits.

Q: Is the finished model hollow inside or solid?
A: The model features a detailed internal frame structure to support the roof, but like the real architecture, the interior space is largely open and visible through the windows and doors.

A: Yes, the ABS plastic bricks are durable and can be carefully taken apart and reassembled multiple times without losing their clutch power, although we recommend keeping it displayed once finished due to the complexity.
