Perfect for teaching kids strategy
Bought this for my 8-year-old son who is learning Chinese Chess at school. The magnetic pieces are strong enough to stay in place but easy for small hands to move. The wood quality is excellent for the price.

Classic game, modern convenience
As someone who grew up playing Xiangqi, I appreciate the traditional layout combined with the portable magnetic design. It's durable enough to withstand enthusiastic play from children.

Excellent value
This set offers great value. The board folds neatly, and the pieces fit perfectly into the storage slots. It's become a favorite weekend activity for our family game night.

Sturdy and well-made
I was worried about the magnets being weak, but they hold the pieces securely even if the board is tilted slightly. The solid wood feels premium and not like cheap plastic. Highly recommend for elementary students.

Great travel companion
The foldable design makes it incredibly easy to pack in a backpack. We took it on a road trip and played in the car without pieces sliding off. Only minor issue is the instruction booklet could be more detailed for beginners.

Good for beginners
My daughter loves the bright contrast of the wood tones which helps her distinguish the pieces. The magnetic feature is a game changer for keeping things organized. Would give 5 stars if the box had a handle.
Q: Are the characters on the pieces engraved or printed?
A: The characters are deeply engraved and filled with non-toxic paint to ensure durability and readability during long gaming sessions.
Q: Does it come with a rulebook in English?
A: Yes, the set includes a bilingual instruction guide with rules and basic strategies in both English and Chinese.
Q: Is the wood treated with any harmful chemicals?
A: Absolutely not. We use only water-based, non-toxic lacquers that are safe for children and comply with all safety standards.
Q: Can this board be used for international chess as well?
A: No, this board is specifically designed with the grid lines and river required for Chinese Chess (Xiangqi) and is not suitable for International Chess.
Q: How strong are the magnets? Will pieces fall if I lift the board vertically?
A: The magnets are strong enough to hold the pieces firmly when the board is lifted vertically or held at an angle, making it ideal for travel.
