Sleek design and fast transfers
I bought this to back up my photos from my phone and laptop. The metal casing feels very premium and dissipates heat well. Transfer speeds are impressive for a mechanical drive.

Great value for the price
Works perfectly with my MacBook Pro. It's compact enough to fit in my camera bag. Only giving 4 stars because the included cable is a bit short, but otherwise excellent.

Reliable for field work
I take this on photo shoots. The metal body seems durable enough to handle being tossed in a backpack. Fast enough to offload RAW files quickly.

Good drive, slightly noisy
The drive works well and holds a lot of data. However, you can hear the mechanical spinning when it is actively reading or writing. Not a dealbreaker, but noticeable in a quiet room.

Solid budget option
Needed extra space for university projects. This was the most affordable 1TB option I could find with good reviews. It does exactly what it says on the tin.
Q: Is this drive compatible with iPhone without an adapter?
A: This drive uses a standard USB-A connector. To connect it directly to an iPhone with a Lightning port, you will need a Lightning to USB Camera Adapter. For USB-C iPhones, a simple USB-C to USB-A adapter is required.
Q: Does this come pre-formatted for Mac or Windows?
A: The drive typically comes pre-formatted in exFAT, which is readable and writable by both Windows and macOS out of the box. You can reformat it to NTFS or APFS if your specific workflow requires it.
Q: What is the maximum drop height this drive can survive?
A: While the metal casing offers better protection than plastic, mechanical hard drives are sensitive to shocks. We do not recommend dropping the drive. Always handle with care and use a protective case during transport.
Q: Can I use this to backup my PS5 games?
A: Yes, you can store PS5 games on this drive, but you cannot play them directly from it. You must move them back to the internal SSD to play. It works perfectly for storing PS4 games which can be played directly.
Q: How loud is the hard drive during operation?
A: As this is a mechanical HDD, there is a faint humming or clicking sound during active read/write operations. It is generally quiet enough for office environments but may be audible in a silent room.
