Perfect trashy sound for accents
I bought the 15cm version and it cuts through the mix beautifully. The decay is quick and the tone is very authentic to the Beijing style. Great value for the price.

Great starter splash cymbal
As a beginner, I wanted something affordable but real. This Seagull cymbal feels professional and sounds much better than the cheap brass ones I tried before.

Good quality, slightly inconsistent finish
The sound is fantastic for studio work, very dry and focused. However, the hammering marks on my 17cm cymbal were a bit uneven compared to photos. Still sounds great though.

Excellent water cymbal effect
Using this as a water cymbal in my traditional ensemble. The resonance is exactly what I needed. It responds well to light touches and doesn't wash out.

Too thin for heavy hitting
Sounds nice when played softly, but I found the 12cm model a bit too fragile for my rock gigging needs. It cracks easily if you hit it hard. Better for jazz or light pop.

Amazing variety in sizes
I purchased the set with all four sizes. Each one has a distinct pitch and character. The 19cm provides a wonderful washy crash while the 12cm is a sharp chick sound.
Q: Does this cymbal come with a felt washer and wing nut?
A: No, the cymbal is sold individually without mounting hardware. You will need to use your existing stand fittings or purchase them separately.
Q: How do I clean these cymbals without damaging the finish?
A: We recommend using a soft, dry cloth to remove dust. Avoid harsh chemical polishes as they can remove the natural patina and alter the specific tonal characteristics of the Beijing style finish.
Q: Is the copper alloy lead-free?
A: Yes, our Seagull Resonant Copper cymbals are made from a safe bronze/copper alloy mixture that complies with international safety standards and contains no harmful lead levels.
Q: What is the difference between the 15cm and 17cm models?
A: The 17cm model has a slightly lower pitch, a wider spread, and a marginally longer sustain compared to the tighter, higher-pitched 15cm version.
Q: Can these be used as hi-hats?
A: While they are sometimes referred to as 'small hat' in traditional contexts, they are primarily designed as splash or effect cymbals. They may work for light hi-hat patterns but are not optimized for standard drum kit hi-hat use.
