Perfect for spring foraging
This little shovel is incredibly sturdy. I used it all weekend to dig up shepherd's purse and wild garlic, and it cut through the soil like butter. The handle feels great in the hand.

Better than plastic trowels

Great quality, slightly small

Essential tool for hikers

Solid construction
Very happy with the purchase. The wood handle is smooth and doesn't give blisters. It took a bit of effort to dig into clay soil, but the tool didn't suffer any damage.

A: Simply rinse with water and dry thoroughly with a towel to prevent rust. Occasionally applying a light coat of mineral oil to the metal blade will help maintain the anti-rust coating.
Q: Is the steel stainless or carbon steel?
A: It is made from high-carbon steel for maximum strength and edge retention. It has an anti-rust coating, but it is not stainless steel, so keeping it dry is important.
Q: Does this come with a sheath or cover?
A: No, this tool is sold as a standalone item without a carrying sheath. We recommend wrapping the blade in a cloth when storing it in a bag to protect other items.
Q: Can this be used in rocky soil?
A: Yes, the high-carbon steel blade is durable enough for rocky conditions. However, we recommend using a rocking motion rather than forcing it straight down to avoid chipping the edge on large stones.
