Exceeded expectations
The aesthetic is beautiful in my craft room, and the stitching quality is superior to my $500 computerized machine. Highly recommend for serious hobbyists.

Solid performer
Very happy with the purchase. The only downside is that finding specific bobbins can be slightly tricky compared to modern universal ones, but they are available online.

Great machine, needs cleaning
The mechanical quality is superb, but it arrived a bit dusty as expected for a vintage item. After a good oiling and cleaning, it runs smoothly.

Built like a tank!
This vintage Butterfly machine is incredible. It sews through multiple layers of denim without even hesitating. The foot pedal gives you great control over speed.

Perfect for heavy fabrics
I use this for quilting and making canvas bags. Modern plastic machines jam on thick fabric, but this old-school metal beast handles everything perfectly.

Nostalgic and functional
Bought this for my daughter who is learning to sew. The manual operation teaches her the rhythm of sewing better than an electric one would.
Q: How heavy is the package for shipping?
A: The total shipping weight is approximately 18 kg due to the cast iron construction and the wooden table. Please ensure someone is available to help lift it upon delivery.
Q: Does it come with a table or just the head?
A: It includes the classic wooden cabinet table which the machine sits inside. The handwheel folds down flat when not in use.
Q: Is there a reverse stitch function?
A: As a vintage manual model, it does not have an automatic reverse lever. To reverse, you simply turn the handwheel backward manually.
Q: What kind of needle does this use?
A: It uses standard household system 16x1 needles, which are widely available at most fabric stores.
Q: Can this machine be converted to run on electricity?
A: Yes, this model is electric capable. It comes with a foot pedal for manual operation, but a motor kit can be attached easily if you prefer electric power.
