Good quality, easy to integrate
The build quality is solid with nice gold plating on the traces. Integration with my ESP32 was straightforward. I deducted one star because the included header pins were slightly bent, but nothing a quick fix couldn't solve.

Reliable leak detector

Perfect for my Arduino rain alarm
This sensor works exactly as described. The sensitivity is adjustable via the potentiometer, which makes it very versatile. I used it to detect rain on my balcony and it triggers my buzzer instantly. Great value for the price.

Works well once calibrated
As a beginner, I found the calibration process a bit tricky at first, but the online tutorials helped. Once set up, the digital output is clean and reliable. Just make sure you don't submerge the electronic components, only the sensing traces.
Q: What is the maximum current this module can switch?
A: The onboard LM393 comparator output is intended for signal logic, not for driving high-power loads directly. It should be connected to a microcontroller or used to trigger a relay/MOSFET for higher current applications.
Q: Can this sensor be used directly with a Raspberry Pi?
A: Yes, but please note that the Raspberry Pi GPIO pins operate at 3.3V logic. Ensure you configure the sensor's VCC to 3.3V or use a voltage divider/logic level shifter if powering at 5V to avoid damaging the Pi.
Q: Is the sensor waterproof or just water-resistant?
A: The sensing area (the exposed traces) is designed to come into contact with water. However, the backside containing the solder joints and chips is not waterproof. We recommend conformal coating the back if used in very humid environments.
Q: How do I adjust the sensitivity?
A: There is a blue potentiometer on the board. Turn it clockwise to increase sensitivity (detect less water) or counter-clockwise to decrease it. Use a small screwdriver while testing with water to find your ideal setting.
Q: Does the package include connecting wires?
A: The standard package includes the sensor module and a set of header pins for soldering. Connecting wires are not included but can be easily attached to the header pins once soldered.
