Great addition to sensor kit

Does the job
Simple and effective. The probes are a bit short for deep soil planting, but for surface detection on a robot chassis, they are perfect. Would recommend for beginners.

Perfect for my Arduino robot car
This sensor works exactly as described. I integrated it into my smart car project to detect wet surfaces, and the digital output is very stable. The sensitivity adjustment pot makes calibration easy.

Easy to connect and use

Good value for basic projects
Works well for simple moisture detection tasks. It's not a precision laboratory instrument, but for the price and its use in hobby robotics, it is excellent. Shipping was fast.

Reliable detection
Bought three of these for a line-following robot that also needs to avoid puddles. All three units performed consistently. The build quality feels solid for the cost.
Q: Can this sensor measure the exact percentage of moisture in the soil?
A: No, this module provides a digital switch output (wet/dry) based on a threshold you set with the potentiometer. It does not provide an analog percentage value.
Q: Is this compatible with Raspberry Pi?
A: Yes, it is compatible. Since it operates at 3.3V-5V and gives a digital signal, you can connect the DO pin to a GPIO pin on your Raspberry Pi.
Q: Can I use this outdoors in the rain?
A: The PCB is not waterproof. While the probes are designed for soil contact, the electronic components should be protected from direct rain or submersion.
Q: How long are the probe pins?
A: The exposed probe length is approximately 20mm, which is suitable for surface-level detection or shallow insertion in small pots or robot applications.
Q: Does the package include connecting wires?
A: The package typically includes the module only. You will need to solder your own header pins or wires to connect it to your controller.
