Reliable and consistent

Perfect for my line follower robot
These sensors work flawlessly with my Arduino Uno project. The sensitivity adjustment potentiometer makes it very easy to calibrate for different surface colors. Great value for the price.

Easy to use for beginners
I was worried about wiring this up, but the pins are clearly labeled (VCC, GND, OUT). The included documentation helped me get it running in under 10 minutes. Highly recommended.

Works as described
Does exactly what it says on the tin. The IR LED and receiver are well-positioned. Just make sure your power supply is stable, or the readings might fluctuate slightly.

Excellent sensitivity control
The blue potentiometer allows for fine-tuning the threshold. I used these for an obstacle avoidance car, and they react instantly to objects within the 2cm range. Very satisfied.

Good quality, fast shipping

Q: What is the maximum current consumption of this module?
A: The module typically consumes around 20mA when the IR LED is active. Please refer to the datasheet for specific graphs regarding duty cycle and power saving modes.
Q: Does the package include mounting screws?
A: No, the package contains only the sensor modules. Standard M3 screws and standoffs are required for mounting, which are commonly available at any hardware store.
Q: Is this compatible with Raspberry Pi GPIO pins?
A: Yes, it is compatible. Since the output is digital, you can connect the OUT pin to a GPIO input pin. Just ensure you are using the 3.3V or 5V rail appropriately based on your Pi model.
Q: Can I detect black lines on a white surface?
A: Absolutely. This TCRT5000 module is specifically designed for that purpose. The infrared light reflects differently off white and black surfaces, allowing the comparator to switch the output state.
Q: Can this sensor work outdoors in sunlight?
A: While the sensor can function outdoors, direct strong sunlight may interfere with the infrared signal. We recommend shielding the sensor or using it in shaded areas for best results.
