Perfect for my sorting project
This sensor works exactly as described. The button operation makes calibration very easy without needing a computer. Detected the color changes instantly.

Works well but sensitive to dust
The sensor performs well in clean environments. We had to add a protective cover because dust accumulation affected the reading after a few weeks of heavy use.

Solid industrial component

Exceeded expectations
I was worried about accuracy with yellowing leaves, but the recognition module is quite precise. Setup took less than five minutes.
Q: Does this module work outdoors in direct sunlight?
A: While it functions outdoors, direct intense sunlight may interfere with readings. We suggest using a shading hood or enclosure for outdoor applications.
Q: Can this sensor distinguish between green and slightly yellow leaves?
A: Yes, the YDI-D54 is specifically calibrated to detect the transition from green to yellow, making it ideal for ripeness or health monitoring.
Q: What is the maximum distance for accurate detection?
A: For optimal accuracy, we recommend placing the object within 5mm to 15mm of the sensor face. Performance may vary beyond this range.
Q: How do I reset the calibration settings?
A: Press and hold the setting button for 5 seconds until the LED flashes rapidly. This will restore factory default sensitivity settings.
Q: Is the output compatible with Arduino Uno?
A: Absolutely. The High/Low level output works perfectly with Arduino digital pins. Just ensure you share a common ground.
