Great for university projects

Good sensor, requires patience
The sensor quality seems solid. Just remember that these types of sensors need a long burn-in time (about 24-48 hours) before they give accurate CO readings. Once stabilized, it detects changes in air quality very well.

Perfect for my home safety project
This MQ-7 module works exactly as described. I connected it to an Arduino Uno and had reading data within minutes. The analog output is smooth, and the digital threshold is easy to adjust with the screw pot. Great value for the price.

Excellent sensitivity adjustment
The potentiometer allows for fine-tuning the trigger point easily. I tested it against a professional meter, and the correlation was surprisingly good after the initial burn-in period. Highly recommended for hobbyists.

Solid performance
Works well for detecting carbon monoxide levels. The only reason for 4 stars instead of 5 is that the heating element gets quite hot, which is normal for this sensor type, but make sure your enclosure has ventilation.

Reliable and easy to integrate
I've used several gas sensors, and this WGSD version is one of the more consistent ones. The PCB layout is clean, and the pins are clearly labeled. It triggered my alarm system correctly during testing with a safe CO source.
Q: How do I calibrate the digital trigger threshold?
A: You can calibrate the threshold by exposing the sensor to a known safe environment, then turning the blue potentiometer on the board with a small screwdriver until the LED indicator switches state at your desired ppm level.
Q: Is the output voltage compatible with 3.3V logic boards like ESP32?
A: Yes, the analog output scales with the input voltage. If you power the VCC with 3.3V, the output will be compatible. However, for optimal heater performance and sensor stability, 5V is generally preferred, in which case a voltage divider or level shifter is needed for the signal pin.
Q: What is the warm-up time required before accurate readings?
A: For the most accurate results, we recommend powering the sensor continuously for at least 24 to 48 hours initially. After this burn-in period, it will provide stable and reliable carbon monoxide detection.
Q: Can this detect natural gas or propane as well?
A: While the MQ-7 is specifically optimized for Carbon Monoxide (CO), it may show some reactivity to other combustible gases. However, for dedicated Natural Gas or Propane detection, we recommend using an MQ-5 or MQ-6 sensor module for better accuracy.
Q: Does this module come with a library for Arduino?
A: The module itself is hardware-only and does not include a physical library card. However, many open-source libraries for MQ-7 sensors are available on GitHub and the Arduino Library Manager that work perfectly with this board.
