Exceeded expectations
Very accurate depth detection when calibrated correctly. I used it to monitor a small aquarium overflow system and it hasn't given a false alarm yet. Fast shipping too.

Reliable leak detector component
I integrated three of these under my sink for a custom leak detection system. They respond instantly to water droplets. The build quality is solid for the price point.

Solid performance
The sensor is responsive and the PCB looks professional. Only minor issue is that the connector wires were a bit short for my specific enclosure, but easy to extend.

Perfect for my Arduino rain project
This sensor works exactly as described. The sensitivity adjustment via the potentiometer makes it very versatile for different water depths. Easy to wire up and read values.

Great for learning electronics
Bought this for a university project on smart irrigation. The analog output gives smooth readings, and the digital pin is great for simple on/off alerts. Highly recommended for beginners.

Good value but needs calibration
Works well for detecting moisture in soil or water levels. You do need to spend a few minutes calibrating the threshold, but once set, it is reliable. Gold plating seems durable.
Q: What is the maximum water depth this can detect?
A: This sensor detects the presence of water bridging the traces. It works best for shallow depths ranging from a single droplet up to approximately 5-10mm. It is not designed for deep submersion pressure measurement.
Q: Can this sensor be used directly with a Raspberry Pi?
A: Yes, but please note that the Raspberry Pi GPIO pins operate at 3.3V logic. Ensure you configure the sensor voltage accordingly or use a voltage divider if connecting the digital output directly to avoid damage.
Q: Does this come with connecting wires?
A: The module typically comes with header pins soldered or unsoldered depending on the batch, but jumper wires are usually sold separately. Please check your specific package contents upon arrival.
Q: How do I adjust the sensitivity?
A: There is a blue potentiometer on the board. Turn it clockwise to increase sensitivity (detect smaller amounts of water) and counter-clockwise to decrease it. Test with a multimeter or your microcontroller while adjusting.
Q: Is the sensor waterproof or just water-resistant?
A: The sensing area is coated and designed to be in contact with water, but the electronic components on the back of the PCB are not waterproof. Please ensure only the designated sensing tracks touch the liquid.
