Good value, needs calibration
Great little module for the price. You do need to spend some time adjusting the potentiometer to get the digital trigger point exactly where you want it, but once set, it stays stable. Used it to monitor nutrient tank levels.

Easy to integrate
Bought this for a university robotics project. The pinout is standard and easy to understand. Documentation online is plentiful. It detected droplets instantly, which was crucial for our rain detection system.

Solid build quality
We use these in our workshop for various student projects. They are robust enough to handle beginner mistakes. The only downside is that long-term submersion in salty water might degrade them faster, but for fresh water, they are excellent.

Reliable leak detector

Perfect for my aquarium project
This sensor works flawlessly with my Arduino setup. The analog output gives very consistent readings as the water level rises. I appreciate the gold plating which seems to prevent oxidation better than my old copper sensors.

A: Yes, the operating voltage range is 3.3V to 5V DC, making it fully compatible with 3.3V logic systems such as the ESP8266, ESP32, and Raspberry Pi GPIO pins.
Q: What is the maximum water depth this can measure accurately?
A: The sensor measures based on contact area rather than pressure. Accuracy depends on how much of the exposed traces are covered by water. It is ideal for detecting levels from a few millimeters up to the full length of the sensor trace (approx. 40mm).
Q: Can this sensor be submerged completely for long periods?
A: While the sensor is designed to detect water presence and depth, continuous long-term submersion may eventually lead to corrosion despite the gold plating. It is best suited for periodic detection or short-term immersion applications.
Q: How do I adjust the sensitivity threshold?
A: There is a blue potentiometer on the board. Use a small screwdriver to rotate it clockwise to increase sensitivity or counter-clockwise to decrease it. Test with water droplets while monitoring the digital output pin to find your desired trigger point.
