Great addition to my parts bin
Always good to have a few of these on hand. They are robust enough for prototyping and the LM393 comparator ensures clean digital signals. No false triggers observed after proper setup.

Compact and effective
Small footprint makes it easy to hide inside small enclosures. The only reason for 4 stars instead of 5 is that the mounting holes are a bit tight for standard screws, but it works with some care.

Reliable vibration detection
I bought ten of these for a batch of student robots. They all function consistently. The normally closed configuration is ideal for our alarm logic. Highly recommended for educational kits.

Perfect for my Arduino security project
This SW-420 module worked exactly as described. The sensitivity adjustment is very responsive, allowing me to fine-tune it so it doesn't trigger on minor background noise but catches actual bumps. Great value for the price.

Good sensor, needs careful calibration
The build quality is solid and the pins are well-soldered. It took a little time to get the potentiometer setting just right for my specific use case, but once calibrated, it has been reliable for weeks.

Easy to integrate
As someone new to electronics, I found this very easy to connect to my microcontroller. The documentation online is plentiful, and the module itself is straightforward with clear labeling for VCC, GND, and DO.
Q: Can I use this with a 3.3V microcontroller like ESP8266?
A: Yes, the operating voltage range is 3.3V to 5V DC, making it fully compatible with 3.3V logic systems like the ESP8266 or ESP32.
Q: What happens when vibration is detected?
A: Since this is a Normally Closed (NC) module, the output is Low by default. When vibration exceeds the set threshold, the output switches to High.
Q: Is there a delay in the response time?
A: The response is nearly instantaneous, typically in the millisecond range, limited mostly by the mechanical movement of the internal spring and the comparator speed.
Q: How do I adjust the sensitivity?
A: There is a blue potentiometer on the board. Turn it clockwise to increase sensitivity (detect smaller vibrations) or counter-clockwise to decrease it.
Q: Does this module output analog or digital signals?
A: The SW-420 outputs a digital signal (High/Low) via the DO pin. It does not provide an analog voltage proportional to vibration intensity.
