Good sensitivity
The touch detection range is decent, working through about 5mm of plastic. It occasionally triggers if there is a lot of electrical noise nearby, but adding a ground plane solved that issue.

Easy to integrate
As a beginner, I found this very easy to connect to my microcontroller. Just three wires and it works. The documentation online is plentiful which helped me understand the timing parameters.

Great value, minor sensitivity adjustment needed
Works well overall. I had to tweak the capacitance slightly by adding a small capacitor to the pad because my panel was thick, but once tuned, it's very reliable. Excellent price for a pack of these.

Perfect for my smart lamp project
These modules are incredibly responsive. I used them to replace mechanical switches in a custom lamp build, and they work flawlessly through the acrylic casing. The jumper settings make it easy to switch between momentary and latching modes.
Q: What is the difference between the two jumper settings?
A: The jumper selects the output mode. One setting provides a momentary pulse (output goes high only while touching), and the other provides a self-latching toggle (touch once to turn on, touch again to turn off).
Q: Can this module detect touch through a 10mm glass panel?
A: While it can detect through glass, 10mm is quite thick. You may need to increase the sensing capacitance by soldering a small capacitor (e.g., 10pF-50pF) to the C pad on the PCB for reliable operation.
Q: Is this compatible with 3.3V logic systems like ESP32?
A: Yes, the operating voltage range is 2.0V to 5.5V, so it works perfectly with both 3.3V and 5V microcontrollers without needing a level shifter.
Q: Can I use this to detect water levels?
A: This sensor is designed for human body capacitance via finger touch. While capacitive sensors can detect liquids, this specific module is optimized for touch interfaces and may not be reliable for direct liquid level sensing without significant modification.
