Upgrade from HC-SR04
If you are tired of fluctuating readings with older modules, get this. The internal temperature sensor really helps normalize the data without extra coding.

Perfect for robotics projects
The dual-mode feature is a game changer. I can switch between UART and pulse mode easily depending on my microcontroller. The temperature compensation makes the readings much more stable than the standard HC-SR04.

Great accuracy, minor wiring confusion
Accuracy is impressive even at longer ranges. The documentation could be slightly clearer on the jumper settings for mode selection, but once figured out, it works flawlessly.

Good value for money
Works well for altitude hold on small drones. The response time is quick enough for basic stabilization. Just ensure your power supply is stable.
Q: What is the maximum update rate for distance measurements?
A: In PWM mode, you can trigger a measurement every 60ms. In UART mode, the module continuously outputs data, but we recommend polling no faster than 50ms to ensure stability.
Q: Does the package include mounting screws?
A: No, the package typically includes only the sensor module. Mounting screws (M3 or M4) are not included but can be sourced easily given the standard hole spacing.
Q: Can this module work directly with a 3.3V ESP32 without a logic level converter?
A: Yes, the US-100 operates from 3V to 5.5V, so it is fully compatible with 3.3V systems like the ESP32 or Raspberry Pi without needing additional converters.
Q: How do I switch between UART and PWM modes?
A: There is a jumper cap on the module. Placing the jumper on the two pins enables UART mode, while removing it sets the module to the default PWM pulse mode.
Q: Is there a library available for Arduino?
A: Yes, several community libraries support the US-100. You can use standard NewPing library configurations or specific US-100 libraries found in the Arduino Library Manager.
