Perfect for my robotics project
This sensor is incredibly accurate for color detection. I used it to sort objects by color in a small conveyor belt system, and it worked flawlessly right out of the box. The I2C library support for Arduino is excellent.

Great value, minor setup needed
The hardware quality is solid. It took me a little while to calibrate the gain settings for my specific lighting conditions, but once tuned, the readings are very consistent. Highly recommend for hobbyists.

Good documentation support
As a beginner, I was worried about the wiring, but the pin labels are clear. There are plenty of tutorials online. It works well for basic color identification tasks.

Stable for prototyping
Used this for a proof-of-concept industrial sorter. The repeatability of the data is impressive for the price point. The UV filter on the lens really helps reduce noise from sunlight.

Reliable and fast response
I've tested several color sensors, and this TCS34725 module offers the best balance of speed and accuracy. The onboard white LED helps significantly when ambient light is poor.
Q: Is there a library available for Python/Raspberry Pi?
A: Absolutely. You can use the standard Adafruit CircuitPython TCS34725 library or the smbus2 package in Python to interface with the sensor via I2C on Raspberry Pi.
Q: Does this module work directly with 5V Arduino boards?
A: Yes, the module supports an operating voltage range of 3.3V to 5V, making it fully compatible with standard 5V Arduino boards like the Uno and Mega.
Q: Can this sensor distinguish between black and dark blue?
A: Yes, provided the lighting conditions are controlled and the gain/integration time are calibrated correctly, the high-resolution RGB channels can differentiate between dark shades effectively.
Q: What is the maximum distance for accurate color reading?
A: For optimal accuracy, we recommend placing the object within 10mm to 20mm of the sensor. While it can detect colors up to 60mm, precision decreases as the distance increases.
Q: Does the package include jumper wires?
A: The package includes the sensor module only. Jumper wires and mounting hardware are sold separately, allowing you to choose the length and type that best fits your project enclosure.
