Good module, clear documentation needed

The hardware quality is solid and the LED indicators are helpful for debugging. I deducted one star because the pinout wasn't printed clearly on the board itself, though it was easy to find online. Works great with Arduino.

Excellent sensitivity range

The potentiometer allows for a wide range of sensitivity settings. I can make it detect a light tap or require a strong shake. Very versatile for different prototypes.

Great starter sensor

As a beginner, this was easy to wire up and test. The output is clean digital signal which makes coding simple. Just be careful not to overtighten the mounting screws.

Perfect for my DIY alarm project

This sensor works exactly as described. The sensitivity adjustment is very responsive, allowing me to fine-tune it so it doesn't trigger from minor background noise but catches actual bumps. Great value for the price.

Q: Is the 'Normally Closed' state active when there is no vibration?

A: Yes, in the default resting state with no vibration, the circuit is closed (output Low depending on your pull-up configuration). When vibration exceeds the threshold, the switch opens momentarily (output High).

Q: Does this module output analog voltage levels based on vibration intensity?

A: No, the SW-420 provides a digital switching output (High/Low or 0/1). It indicates whether the vibration threshold has been exceeded, not the precise intensity level.

Q: What is the maximum current this module can handle on the output pin?

A: The comparator output can typically source/sink around 20mA, which is sufficient to drive an LED or a small relay module directly. For higher loads, we recommend using a transistor or MOSFET.

Q: Does this come with header pins soldered?

A: This module usually ships with the header pins included but unsoldered, giving you the flexibility to solder them on the top or bottom side depending on your breadboard or PCB needs.

Q: Can I use this sensor outdoors in the rain?

A: The PCB itself is not waterproof or weather-sealed. If you plan to use it outdoors, you must house it in a waterproof enclosure while ensuring the vibration can still be transmitted to the sensor.
