Great precision, needs careful mounting
The accuracy is impressive for the price point. However, you need to ensure it is mounted flat and securely to get consistent readings. Once installed correctly, it works flawlessly with my Arduino Uno.

Ideal for joint angle measurement

Much better than standard flex sensors
This strain gauge module is incredibly responsive compared to the cheap resistive flex sensors I used before. The ability to detect both positive and negative bending angles makes it perfect for my robotic finger project. Calibration was straightforward.

Exceeded expectations
I was skeptical about the 'high-precision' claim, but after plotting the output values against a protractor, the correlation is nearly perfect. A fantastic alternative to expensive industrial sensors for hobbyists.
Q: What is the maximum number of bend cycles this sensor can withstand?
A: Based on our stress testing, the sensor maintains accuracy for over 100,000 bend cycles within its specified range. Avoid bending beyond +/- 90 degrees to prevent damage.
Q: Can this be used underwater or in high humidity environments?
A: The base module is not waterproof. For humid or wet environments, we recommend applying a conformal coating or enclosing the sensor in a flexible waterproof membrane while ensuring the bending mechanism remains unrestricted.
Q: Does this sensor require an external amplifier or can it connect directly to an ADC?
A: The module includes a built-in signal conditioning circuit, so you can connect the SIG pin directly to the analog input of microcontrollers like Arduino or ESP32 without extra amplification.
Q: Is there a library available for Arduino to read this specific module?
A: Since it outputs a standard analog voltage, you do not need a specific library. You can simply use the standard analogRead() function and map the values to degrees in your code.
Q: What is the resistance value of the strain gauge itself?
A: The internal strain gauge bridge is designed with a nominal resistance of 350 ohms, optimized for the onboard Wheatstone bridge circuit included on the PCB.
