Works well but sensitive to voltage spikes
The detection works fine, but I noticed some false triggers when my motor driver activated nearby. Adding a capacitor helped stabilize it. Good for simple projects, maybe not industrial use.

Great for learning embedded systems
Bought this for a university project on voice-activated lights. It was easy to code for and the documentation online is plentiful. Highly recommend for beginners.

Compact and effective
Small form factor fits easily into tight enclosures. The microphone picks up sounds clearly. Only wish it had an analog output option as well, but for digital switching, it's perfect.

Good value but needs calibration
Great little sensor for the price. You definitely need to spend time adjusting the potentiometer to get the threshold right for your specific environment. Once set, it's reliable.

Perfect for my Arduino clap switch project
This module works exactly as described. The sensitivity adjustment is very responsive, allowing me to tune it specifically for hand claps without triggering on background noise. Easy to wire up.

Reliable digital output
I've used these in several student robotics kits. The digital output is clean and interfaces perfectly with microcontrollers. The blue PCB is sturdy and the soldering points are clear.
Q: Is there a delay between the sound occurrence and the output signal?
A: The response time is extremely fast, typically under 10 milliseconds. Any perceived delay is usually due to the code processing time on your microcontroller, not the sensor itself.
Q: Does this module provide an analog output or only digital?
A: This specific blue board model provides a digital switching output (DO). It outputs a high or low signal based on whether the sound intensity exceeds the threshold set by the potentiometer.
Q: Can this detect specific frequencies like a whistle?
A: The module detects sound intensity (amplitude) rather than specific frequencies. However, by adjusting the sensitivity potentiometer, you can tune it to react primarily to sharp, loud sounds like a whistle while ignoring lower ambient noise.
Q: How do I adjust the sensitivity?
A: There is a small blue potentiometer on the board. Use a small Phillips screwdriver to turn it clockwise to increase sensitivity (detect quieter sounds) or counter-clockwise to decrease it.
Q: What is the maximum voltage this can handle without damage?
