Perfect for my Arduino project
This sensor works exactly as described. I connected it to my Arduino Uno and the sensitivity adjustment via the potentiometer made calibration very easy. Great value for a DIY automatic watering system.

Does the job well
Works great for triggering my 12V relay module. The response time is instant. Just make sure to coat the probes with conformal coating if you plan to leave them in wet soil permanently to extend lifespan.

Reliable moisture detection
I've tested this in various soil types from sandy to clay, and it consistently triggers the water pump when the soil gets dry. It has saved my indoor plants while I was on vacation.

Excellent value kit

Good quality, fast shipping
The build quality is solid. The gold plating on the probes should help prevent corrosion over time. Only giving 4 stars because the included wires were a bit short for my specific setup, but that's a minor issue.

Great component for beginners
Very easy to interface with Raspberry Pi and ESP8266 modules. The digital output simplifies the coding process significantly compared to analog sensors. Highly recommended for students.
Q: Can this sensor be used directly with a 12V power supply?
A: No, the sensor module itself operates on 3.3V to 5V. However, it can control a separate 12V water pump module via a relay or transistor circuit based on its digital output signal.
Q: Does this come with a water pump included?
A: No, this listing is for the Soil Moisture Detection Module only. The water pump and tubing must be purchased separately or as part of a complete 'Kit' bundle if available in our store.
Q: How do I adjust the sensitivity threshold?
A: There is a blue potentiometer on the back of the PCB. Turn it clockwise to increase sensitivity (trigger easier) or counter-clockwise to decrease it. Use a small screwdriver for adjustment.
Q: Is the output analog or digital?
A: This specific module provides a digital switch output (HIGH/LOW). If you require analog readings for precise moisture percentage, please check our store for the analog version of this sensor.
Q: Are the probes resistant to rust?
A: The probes are gold-plated to improve conductivity and resist corrosion better than bare nickel. However, for long-term immersion, we recommend applying a waterproof conformal coating to the PCB and checking probes periodically.
