Simple and effective
No complex libraries needed if you just want a simple digital input. Connect power, ground, and output, and it works immediately. Great for replacing mechanical buttons that wear out.

Solid component for the price
Used this in a student robotics project. It handled the voltage fluctuations well. The only reason for 4 stars instead of 5 is that the soldering pads are a bit small for beginners.

Great for hidden controls

Reliable capacitive switch

Perfect for my smart lamp project
This module worked flawlessly behind a thin piece of acrylic. The sensitivity is adjustable and the self-locking mode is exactly what I needed for my bedside lamp conversion. Very easy to wire up with an Arduino.

Good value, minor sensitivity tweak needed
Works well overall. I had to sand down the back of the touch area slightly to get it to work through my specific wooden enclosure, but once calibrated, it's been reliable for weeks.
Q: Can this module work through a 5mm thick glass panel?
A: Yes, in most cases, this sensor can detect touch through non-metallic materials like glass up to 5-8mm thick, depending on the specific dielectric constant of the material. You may need to adjust the sensitivity if your setup varies.
Q: Does the output stay high indefinitely when touched in self-locking mode?
A: In self-locking mode, the output toggles state with each touch. One touch turns it ON (high), and a subsequent touch turns it OFF (low). It does not require continuous holding.
Q: What is the maximum current this output pin can handle?
A: The output pin is designed for signal-level logic and should not be used to drive high-current loads directly. We recommend using it to trigger a transistor, MOSFET, or relay module for controlling higher power devices.
