Perfect for DIY Air Quality Monitors
This SGP30 module works flawlessly with my ESP32 project. The I2C connection was straightforward, and the library support is excellent. Readings seem consistent when compared to my commercial air purifier.

Good sensor, requires calibration time
The hardware quality is solid. Just remember that it needs a burn-in period of about 48 hours for the most accurate baseline readings. Once calibrated, the eCO2 and TVOC data is very responsive to changes in the room.

Easy to integrate but documentation could be better
Getting the sensor up and running was mostly easy thanks to community examples, though the official datasheet is a bit dense for beginners. The output values are stable and useful for triggering alerts.

Great for monitoring plant environments
I use this to monitor CO2 levels in my indoor garden setup. It helps me know exactly when to ventilate the room. The form factor is small enough to fit discreetly in my control box.

Reliable and compact
Bought three of these for different rooms. They all perform consistently. The ability to detect VOCs from cleaning products or cooking is a nice bonus feature for automating my exhaust fans.

Works well but sensitive to humidity
The sensor provides good data, but I noticed readings drift slightly in very high humidity conditions. Adding a separate humidity sensor for compensation in the code solved the issue for me.
Q: Does this module come with a built-in pull-up resistor for the I2C lines?
A: Yes, the breakout board includes 4.7kΩ pull-up resistors on both SDA and SCL lines, making it ready to connect directly to most microcontrollers.
Q: Is there a specific library recommended for Arduino users?
A: We recommend using the 'Adafruit SGP30' library or the 'SparkFun SGP30' library, both of which are available in the Arduino Library Manager and handle the complex algorithms internally.
Q: What is the expected lifespan of the sensor element?
A: Under normal operating conditions, the sensor element has an expected lifetime of more than 10 years.
Q: How often should I recalibrate the sensor?
A: The SGP30 features an automatic self-calibration algorithm that adjusts the baseline over time. Manual recalibration is generally not required unless the sensor is exposed to extreme contaminant levels for extended periods.
Q: Can this sensor detect carbon monoxide (CO)?
A: No, the SGP30 is specifically designed to measure Total Volatile Organic Compounds (TVOC) and equivalent Carbon Dioxide (eCO2). It does not detect Carbon Monoxide.
