Good value, needs calibration
The sensor works well once you spend time calibrating the magnetometer. The gyroscope drift is minimal. Documentation could be slightly better, but there are plenty of community examples online.

Reliable 9-axis data
I've tested this against more expensive industrial sensors, and for the price, the performance is incredible. The fusion algorithm onboard provides smooth orientation data which is great for navigation.

Perfect for my ROS2 robot project
This IMU module integrated seamlessly with my Raspberry Pi running ROS2. The USB interface made setup trivial, and the attitude data is stable and accurate after calibration. Highly recommended for hobbyists.

Solid performance
Using this for a small autonomous rover. The update rate is sufficient for my needs. Only minor issue is the USB cable included is a bit short, but that's an easy fix.

Exceeded expectations

Great for university projects
Bought this for my final year robotics thesis. It arrived quickly and worked out of the box with the provided demo software. The build quality feels solid.
Q: What is the latency of the data output?
A: At the default 100Hz setting, the end-to-end latency is typically under 15ms. This can be reduced by increasing the baud rate in the configuration settings.
Q: Does it come with a calibration tool?
A: The package includes a link to download our PC-based calibration software which guides you through the 6-point acceleration and magnetic calibration process.
Q: Is the source code for the firmware available?
A: The firmware is proprietary to ensure stability and performance optimization. However, we provide full documentation on the communication protocol so you can develop your own drivers.
Q: Is this compatible with ROS Noetic on Ubuntu 20.04?
A: Yes, this module is fully compatible with ROS Noetic. It outputs standard serial data that can be easily parsed by existing ROS IMU driver nodes or custom Python/C++ scripts.
Q: Can I power this with 3.3V instead of USB?
A: This specific model is designed for 5V operation via the USB interface. Using 3.3V directly on the VCC pin may result in unstable readings or failure to operate. Please use the USB port for power.
