Good quality but needs calibration
The build quality is solid. You do need to spend some time calibrating the distance for your specific project, but once set up, it tracks lines reliably. Would recommend having a multimeter handy during setup.

Reliable obstacle detection
Using these not just for line tracking but also for close-range obstacle avoidance. They detect objects within 2cm consistently. Very happy with this purchase.

Easy to wire and use

Excellent for school projects
Bought a pack of five for our university robotics competition. All modules worked out of the box. The digital output makes interfacing with microcontrollers incredibly simple.

Works well under normal light
Performance is great indoors. I noticed slight interference under direct bright sunlight, which is expected for IR sensors. For indoor use, they are flawless.

Perfect for my Arduino line follower
These sensors work exactly as described. The sensitivity is easily adjustable with the potentiometer, and they react very quickly to black tape on a white surface. Great value for the price.
Q: Does this come with header pins soldered?
A: No, the module typically comes without header pins soldered to allow flexibility for breadboard use or direct wire soldering. You will need to solder them yourself.
Q: Can this sensor work with a Raspberry Pi?
A: Yes, absolutely. Since the module outputs a digital signal and operates at 3.3V-5V, it is fully compatible with Raspberry Pi GPIO pins.
Q: Can I use this to detect clear glass?
A: Infrared reflective sensors like the TCRT5000 may struggle with transparent objects like clear glass because the IR light passes through rather than reflecting back. It works best on opaque surfaces.
Q: What is the maximum current consumption of this module?
A: The typical current consumption is around 10mA to 20mA when the LED emitter is active, depending on the supply voltage.
Q: How many sensors can I connect to one Arduino Uno?
