Compact and efficient
Small footprint makes it easy to integrate into tight spaces on my custom PCB. The digital output saves me from having to use an ADC pin. Highly recommended for prototyping.

Good value for the price
Bought five of these for a student competition. Four worked flawlessly out of the box. One needed a little soldering touch-up on the pins, but overall great quality for the cost.

Reliable detection range
I was surprised by how well this picks up flames even from a foot away. It's great for safety monitoring systems in small enclosures. Documentation was clear and helpful.

Easy to use for beginners
As someone new to sensors, I found the included documentation very easy to follow. The pinout is standard, and the potentiometer makes tuning simple without needing complex code.

Perfect for my Arduino fire alarm project
This sensor works exactly as described. I connected it to my Arduino Uno and had it detecting a lighter flame within minutes. The sensitivity adjustment is very responsive.

Works well but needs calibration
The module is sensitive to strong sunlight as well, so you need to calibrate the potentiometer carefully if using it near windows. Once set up, it detects candle flames instantly.
Q: Can this sensor detect smoke or only actual flames?
A: This module is designed specifically to detect the wavelength of flames (fire source). It does not detect smoke particles; for smoke detection, you would need a dedicated smoke sensor module.
Q: How do I adjust the sensitivity?
A: There is a blue potentiometer on the back of the PCB. Turn it clockwise to increase sensitivity (detect flames from further away) or counter-clockwise to decrease it. Use a small screwdriver for adjustment.
Q: What is the maximum effective detection distance?
A: Under normal indoor lighting conditions, the effective detection range is typically between 20cm to 100cm (approx. 8 to 40 inches), depending on the intensity of the fire source and sensitivity settings.
Q: Is this compatible with Raspberry Pi GPIO pins?
A: Yes, it is compatible. Since the module operates at 3.3V to 5V, you can connect the VCC to the 3.3V or 5V pin on your Raspberry Pi and the DO (Digital Output) to a GPIO input pin.
Q: Does the package include connecting wires?
A: No, the package includes the sensor module and a documentation sheet only. You will need to provide your own jumper wires or solder connections for your specific setup.
