Compact and lightweight
Great for adding rain detection to my outdoor drone landing pad. The separate PCB design allows me to mount the sensor remotely from the control board.

Works but corrosion is a concern
The module functions correctly out of the box. However, since it uses exposed traces, I recommend conformal coating if you plan to leave it outdoors long-term.

Easy to understand documentation
As a beginner, I appreciated how straightforward the pinout is. The LEDs clearly indicate power and detection status, which helped me debug my circuit quickly.

Perfect for my weather station project
This sensor works exactly as described. The sensitivity adjustment is very responsive, allowing me to detect even light drizzle. Integration with my Arduino was seamless.

Reliable for student projects
We bought ten of these for our robotics club. They are durable enough for beginners and the large sensing area makes them easy to test without precise water placement.

Good value, needs calibration
Solid build quality for the price. It took a few minutes to dial in the potentiometer to avoid false triggers from humidity, but once set, it performs well.
Q: Can I cut the PCB to make it smaller?
A: We do not recommend cutting the PCB as it may damage the comparator circuit or the sensing traces. Please use the provided mounting holes to fit it into your enclosure.
Q: Is the sensing area protected against rust?
A: The traces are nickel-plated to resist oxidation, but prolonged exposure to harsh elements may eventually cause wear. Applying a thin layer of conformal coating is recommended for permanent outdoor installations.
Q: Can this module directly drive a 12V relay?
A: No, this module operates at 5V and its output current is limited. You should use a transistor or a dedicated relay driver circuit to control a 12V relay.
Q: Does this provide an analog output for rain intensity?
A: This specific model provides a digital output (High/Low). If you need to measure rain intensity levels, please look for our AO (Analog Output) version of the rain sensor.
Q: What is the maximum current consumption?
A: The module typically consumes around 20mA when the power LED is on and the output is active. It is safe to power directly from most microcontroller 5V pins.
