Reliable digital switching
The LM393 comparator provides a clean digital signal which is great for microcontrollers that don't have ADC pins. Very happy with the build quality for the price point.

Perfect for my Arduino weather station
This sensor works exactly as described. The sensitivity adjustment is very responsive, allowing me to trigger an alert only when heavy rain starts. Easy to wire up with standard jumper cables.

Good value, needs calibration
Works well for detecting rainfall on my smart garden project. You do need to spend a few minutes calibrating the potentiometer to get the threshold right for your specific environment, but once set, it's reliable.

Great for school projects
Bought this for a high school electronics project. It was easy to integrate with our Raspberry Pi. The analog output gives nice granular data about how wet the surface is.

Solid performance
Does what it says on the tin. Detects water drops instantly. The only reason for 4 stars instead of 5 is that the mounting holes are a bit small for standard screws, but zip ties work fine.

Decent but traces corrode over time
The module functions well initially. However, after leaving it exposed to the elements for a month, I noticed some corrosion on the exposed nickel traces. I recommend adding a conformal coating if using outdoors long-term.
Q: Can I read both analog and digital signals simultaneously?
A: Yes, the module provides separate pins for Analog Output (AO) and Digital Output (DO), allowing you to read precise moisture levels and a simple rain/no-rain status at the same time.
Q: Can this module be used directly with a 5V Arduino Uno?
A: Yes, this module operates comfortably within the 3.3V to 5V range, making it fully compatible with the Arduino Uno without needing a logic level converter.
Q: Is the sensor sensitive enough to detect light mist or just heavy rain?
A: The sensitivity is adjustable via the onboard blue potentiometer. You can tune it to trigger on light mist or set it to ignore moisture until heavier rainfall occurs.
Q: Does this come with a waterproof casing?
A: No, the module is sold as a bare PCB. For outdoor use, we recommend housing it in a waterproof enclosure with the sensing area exposed, or applying a conformal coating to protect the electronics.
Q: What is the maximum current draw of this module?
A: The module typically draws less than 20mA when active, which is well within the power limits of most microcontroller GPIO pins or USB ports.
