Good sensor, documentation could be better

The hardware works flawlessly on my STM32 board. However, finding specific register maps took some digging compared to more established chips. Once set up, it's very stable.

Perfect for IoT prototypes

Excellent drop-in replacement

Solid performance

Works as advertised. The breakout board layout is clean and easy to solder. Only giving 4 stars because the included example code was for a different MCU.

5 FAQ

Q: Is the chip soldered directly to the breakout board?

A: Yes, the QMI8658 IC is pre-soldered onto the breakout PCB. You only need to solder the header pins to connect it to your breadboard or custom circuit.

Q: Is this module compatible with 5V Arduino Uno boards?

A: Yes, the breakout board includes voltage regulation, but the logic level is 3.3V. We recommend using a logic level shifter or connecting to the 3.3V pin on your Arduino to ensure safe communication.

Q: Does this come with example code for Raspberry Pi?

A: Yes, we provide Python libraries and example scripts for Raspberry Pi on our GitHub repository, linked in the product manual PDF.

Q: Can this handle high vibration environments like motors?

A: The sensor has configurable digital low-pass filters to mitigate high-frequency vibration noise. For extreme conditions, we suggest adding mechanical damping mounts.

Q: What is the exact I2C address?

A: The default I2C address is 0x6A. It can be changed to 0x69 by pulling the AD0 pin high, similar to the MPU6050 configuration.
