Good but requires processing power

The sensor itself is fine, but processing the raw data to create a usable image requires a decent amount of CPU power. If you are using a microcontroller like an Arduino Uno, you might struggle with the refresh rate. Works great on ESP32 though.

Perfect for DIY Thermal Projects

This sensor module works flawlessly with my Raspberry Pi setup. The resolution is low, as expected for this price point, but it's sufficient for detecting heat leaks and motion. The I2C communication is stable and the library support is excellent.

Great value, needs calibration

Good sensor for the price. Out of the box, the temperature readings were slightly off, but after running a simple two-point calibration routine, the accuracy improved significantly. Ideal for prototyping thermal cameras.

Reliable and easy to integrate

Solid component for robotics

Integrated this into a small robot for obstacle avoidance based on heat signatures. It works well in low light conditions. The only downside is the narrow field of view compared to some higher-end models, but the cost benefit is huge.
