Works as described
Does exactly what a PIR sensor should do. The only reason for 4 stars instead of 5 is that the included lens feels a bit fragile, so handle with care during assembly.

Perfect for my Arduino project
This SR602 module worked flawlessly with my Arduino Uno. The sensitivity is impressive, and it detected movement consistently from about 4 meters away. Easy to wire up.

Reliable component
Bought five of these for a robotics class. All of them functioned perfectly out of the box. The pinout is standard and easy to understand.

Good value, small size
Very compact which was exactly what I needed for a tight enclosure. It takes a little trial and error to get the delay timing right, but once configured, it works great.

Highly sensitive
I was worried it might be too sensitive and trigger falsely, but it handles ambient temperature changes well. Great for automatic hallway lights.

Excellent for beginners
If you are new to electronics, this is a great starter sensor. There are plenty of tutorials online for the SR602, and this specific unit matched all the specs perfectly.
Q: Does this come with mounting hardware?
A: This item includes the sensor module and the Fresnel lens cap. Mounting screws or adhesive are not included, but the module has two standard mounting holes for easy installation.
Q: Can this sensor detect motion through glass?
A: No, pyroelectric IR sensors generally cannot detect body heat through glass because standard glass blocks infrared radiation. The sensor needs a direct line of sight or a specialized IR-transmissive window.
Q: Is this compatible with 3.3V logic systems like ESP32?
A: Yes, the module operates between 3.0V and 5.0V, making it fully compatible with 3.3V systems such as the ESP32 or ESP8266 without needing a level shifter.
Q: What is the maximum detection range?
A: Under ideal conditions with a standard Fresnel lens, the SR602 can detect human movement up to approximately 5 to 7 meters. Range varies based on lens quality and environmental temperature.
Q: How do I adjust the sensitivity?
A: Sensitivity and delay time are typically adjusted by changing the values of the external resistors and capacitors connected to the designated pins on the module, as detailed in the datasheet.
