Reliable capacitive sensing
I've tested several touch modules and this SUNLEPHANT one is very stable. No false triggers even when placed near other electronics.

Works well behind wood
Surprisingly, it can detect touch through a thin layer of wood veneer, which was perfect for hiding the sensor in my custom furniture build.
Q: Can I use this with a 3.3V logic system?
A: Absolutely. The module supports an operating voltage range of 3.3V to 5V, making it fully compatible with both 3.3V and 5V microcontroller systems.
Q: Does this come with connecting wires?
A: The package includes the sensor module itself. Jumper wires are sold separately, but standard female-to-female jumper wires fit the 2.54mm pitch header perfectly.
Q: Is a resistor needed for the output pin?
A: Generally, no external resistor is required for the digital output pin when connecting to standard logic inputs like Arduino or ESP32, as the module has built-in circuitry.
Q: Can this sensor work if the metal plate is covered with plastic?
A: Yes, capacitive touch sensors can typically detect touch through non-conductive materials like plastic or glass, provided the layer is not too thick (usually under 5mm).
Q: What is the maximum current this module can handle?
A: This module is designed as a signal input device for microcontrollers. The output pin should not source or sink more than 20mA. It is not intended to drive high-power loads directly.
