Great value, minor learning curve
The hardware quality is solid for the price. It took me a little while to understand the register settings for proximity vs. touch, but once configured, it detects fingers reliably even through thin plastic.

Seamless integration with ESP32
Connected this to an ESP32 immediately. The existing libraries support this chip perfectly. No noise issues even when placed near a WiFi antenna. A staple component for my sensor kits now.

Good board layout
The PCB design is clean, and the pinout is clearly labeled. I appreciated that it supports both 3.3V and 5V logic levels without needing a separate converter. One star off only because the headers were slightly loose on arrival.

Excellent sensitivity range
I was impressed by how far away it can detect a hand before actual contact. This feature allowed me to create a cool 'wake-on-approach' function for my display project. Very stable performance.

Perfect for DIY Keypads

Reliable for student projects
