Fast response time
I am using this for a smart thermostat prototype. The response time is incredibly fast, much better than the cheaper thermistors I used previously. Highly recommended.

Works well but sensitive to EMI
The sensor itself is accurate, but I had to shield the wires because it was picking up noise from nearby motors. Once shielded, it works perfectly.

Good precision, needs calibration
The build quality is solid. Out of the box, it was off by about 1 degree, but after applying the offset in the code, it is extremely accurate. Documentation could be better.

Reliable for industrial use

Perfect for my Arduino project
This sensor works flawlessly with my Arduino Uno. The I2C communication is stable, and the readings are very consistent compared to my calibrated thermometer. Great value for the price.
Q: What is the maximum distance for accurate measurement?
A: Due to the 90-degree field of view, the sensor should be placed close to the target (typically 2-5 cm) to ensure the target fills the field of view for accurate readings.
Q: Is there a library available for ESP32?
A: Yes, the JX90614 is compatible with standard MLX90614 libraries available in the Arduino IDE and PlatformIO, which work perfectly with ESP32 boards.
Q: Does this module come with a breakout board or just the raw sensor?
A: This listing is for the raw TO-46 sensor component. You will need to solder it to a PCB or use a separate breakout board for easy integration.
Q: Does it support PWM output instead of I2C?
A: The JX90614 model primarily supports I2C/SMBus digital output. If you require PWM output, please check our JX90615 variant which offers that specific feature.
Q: Can this measure human body temperature accurately?
