Good but sensitive to heat sources
Works well for human detection, but I noticed it sometimes triggers if placed too close to a heater or direct HVAC vent. Adjusting the sensitivity helped.

Great value, easy wiring
Very straightforward to wire into my Arduino project. The only reason for 4 stars is that the mounting clips feel a bit fragile, but the sensor itself is solid.

Perfect for automatic door projects
This sensor works flawlessly with my custom automatic gate setup. The detection range is consistent, and it ignores sunlight which was a problem with my previous sensor.

Reliable induction
Installed this in a warehouse aisle for lighting control. It triggers instantly when someone walks by and turns off reliably. No false positives so far.

Seamless integration
We used these to automate our conference room lights. The embedded design looks professional, and the long-distance detection covers the whole entryway.

Excellent for student projects
Bought ten of these for our robotics club. They are durable enough to handle student experimentation and provide very stable readings.
Q: Is the output voltage compatible with Raspberry Pi GPIO?
A: The module operates on 5V-24V, but the signal output is typically 3.3V compatible when powered at 5V. We recommend using a logic level converter if powering at higher voltages to protect your Pi.
Q: Can this sensor detect motion through glass?
A: No, infrared sensors generally cannot detect motion through standard glass as it blocks IR radiation. It requires a line of sight or an open aperture.
Q: What is the maximum cable extension length allowed?
A: For optimal signal integrity, we recommend not extending the cable beyond 5 meters without using shielded cabling and proper grounding techniques.
Q: Does this work outdoors in the rain?
A: Yes, the housing has an IP65 rating, making it dust-tight and protected against water jets from any direction, suitable for most outdoor covered installations.
Q: How do I switch between NPN and PNP output?
A: There is a small dip switch located on the side of the PCB inside the housing. Please refer to the included diagram to toggle between NPN (sinking) and PNP (sourcing) modes.
