Good accuracy for the cost
We tested this against a laboratory-grade lux meter and found the deviation to be within the stated 5%. It's a robust solution for large-scale monitoring where you need many nodes.

Solid industrial sensor
Works well with our PLC system. The Modbus register map was easy to implement. Only giving 4 stars because the documentation could be slightly more detailed regarding wiring diagrams for daisy-chaining.

Reliable in harsh weather

Perfect for our greenhouse automation

Easy integration
Connected this to a Raspberry Pi via an RS485 converter without any issues. The response time is fast enough for real-time lighting control systems. Very satisfied.
Q: Is the cable UV resistant for outdoor installation?
A: Yes, the standard 2-meter cable included is jacketed with material suitable for outdoor exposure, including UV resistance, matching the IP65 rating of the sensor housing.
Q: Does this measure UV index or just visible light lux?
A: This specific model measures illuminance in Lux, which corresponds to visible light intensity as perceived by the human eye. It does not measure UV index or infrared radiation.
Q: Can I change the Modbus address if I have multiple sensors?
A: Yes, each sensor comes with a default address, but you can easily change the slave ID using our configuration software or by sending specific Modbus write commands, allowing you to assign unique addresses to each unit on the same line.
Q: Can this sensor be connected directly to a computer without a converter?
A: No, most computers do not have a native RS485 port. You will need an RS485 to USB converter adapter to connect this sensor to a PC for configuration or data logging.
Q: What is the maximum number of sensors that can be daisy-chained on one bus?
A: Theoretically, the Modbus RTU protocol supports up to 247 devices on a single bus. However, practical limits depend on your controller's capability and cable length. We recommend keeping it under 32 devices per segment for optimal stability without repeaters.
