Perfect for my smart home project
This sensor is incredibly sensitive and easy to integrate with my ESP32 setup. The detection range is accurate, and the low power consumption is a huge plus for battery-operated devices.

Good but requires electronics knowledge

Solid performance for the price
Bought ten of these for an office automation retrofit. They are consistent and the 5.8G radar seems less prone to interference than older IR sensors. One unit had a loose pin, but overall quality is good.

Ultra-low power is no joke
Measured the standby current myself and it is indeed in the microamp range. This is ideal for solar-powered garden lights that need to sleep most of the day.

Reliable motion detection
I used this for a security alert system. It detects movement through thin wood panels which is exactly what I needed. No false alarms so far after two weeks of testing.

Great value, minor tuning needed
Works well out of the box, but I had to spend some time adjusting the potentiometer to get the delay time exactly right for my hallway lights. Once set, it has been reliable.
Q: What is the maximum voltage this module can handle?
A: The recommended input voltage range is DC 5V to 24V. Exceeding 24V may damage the component.
Q: Is there a library available for Arduino?
A: Since this is a hardware sensor outputting a digital signal, no specific library is needed. You simply read the HIGH/LOW state from the output pin using standard digitalRead functions.
Q: Does it work outdoors in the rain?
A: The module itself is not waterproof. For outdoor use, you must house it in an IP65-rated enclosure or higher to protect it from moisture.
Q: Can this sensor detect motion through glass or plastic?
A: Yes, the 5.8G radar waves can penetrate non-metallic materials like glass, wood, and thin plastic, allowing for hidden installation.
Q: How do I adjust the sensitivity?
A: There is a small potentiometer on the board labeled 'SENS'. Use a small screwdriver to turn it clockwise to increase sensitivity or counter-clockwise to decrease it.
