Solid hardware, good documentation
The build quality feels robust. Documentation provided clear pinout details and protocol examples. Only minor issue was the initial range seemed shorter than expected until I adjusted the mounting height.

Great value, requires calibration
The module works as advertised. It took a bit of time to tune the sensitivity parameters to avoid false triggers from ceiling fans, but once calibrated, it performs flawlessly. Compact size is a huge plus.

Perfect for IoT integration
Integrated this with an ESP32 for a custom security sensor. The data output is clean and the low power consumption makes it ideal for battery-assisted applications. Highly recommended for developers.

Best radar module in this price range
I have tested several brands, and Hi-Link offers the best balance of price and performance. The ability to detect presence through thin non-metallic materials is a game changer for hidden installations.

Reliable 10G radar performance
Switched from infrared to this microwave radar for a bathroom occupancy sensor. It detects breathing and minor movements even when the user is still, which solved our lights-turning-off-too-soon issue completely.

Excellent sensitivity for smart home projects
I used the LD1020 module for an automatic lighting system in my hallway. The detection is incredibly accurate and distinguishes between static presence and movement better than standard PIR sensors. Setup via UART was straightforward.
Q: Can this sensor detect human presence if the person is sitting completely still?
A: Yes, unlike traditional PIR sensors, this 10G microwave radar can detect micro-movements such as breathing, allowing it to identify static presence effectively.
Q: What is the maximum detection distance for the LD104 model specifically?
A: The LD104 model typically supports a maximum detection distance of up to 15 meters in open spaces, though this can vary based on installation environment and target reflectivity.
Q: What is the communication protocol used for configuration?
A: The module uses a standard UART (TTL level) interface for communication and configuration. You can send specific hex commands to adjust sensitivity, range, and delay times.
Q: Is the LD1020 suitable for outdoor use?
A: While the operating temperature range is wide (-20°C to +70°C), the module itself is not waterproof. It must be housed in an IP-rated enclosure if deployed outdoors.
Q: Does this module interfere with Wi-Fi signals?
A: The module operates at 10.525 GHz, which is distinct from the 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz bands used by most Wi-Fi routers, so interference is generally not an issue.
