Good accuracy, slight noise at max range
Overall a solid ultrasonic module. It performs well within the 2cm to 300cm range. I noticed some fluctuation in readings when targeting objects near the 400cm limit, but for most hobby applications, it is more than sufficient.

Perfect for robotics projects
This sensor works flawlessly with my Arduino Uno. The range is accurate up to about 3 meters in my testing, and the included bracket makes mounting it on a robot chassis very easy. Great value for the price.

Reliable and durable
I have used these sensors in multiple prototypes over the last six months. They handle vibration well and provide consistent data. The 4-pin interface is standard and easy to wire up without a breadboard.

Easy to use for beginners
As someone new to electronics, I found this module very forgiving. Plenty of tutorials exist for connecting it to Raspberry Pi and Arduino. Just remember you need a 5V power supply for optimal performance.

Essential for school projects
Bought this for a final year engineering project involving obstacle avoidance. The documentation online is plentiful, and the module itself is robust. The US-100 version seems to have slightly better stability than older generic versions.

Bulk buy success
Purchased ten units for our university club. All of them worked out of the box. The consistency between units is impressive, which is crucial when calibrating multiple robots for a competition.
Q: Can this sensor detect transparent objects like glass or clear plastic?
A: Ultrasonic sensors rely on sound wave reflection. Transparent materials like glass can sometimes absorb or deflect sound waves depending on the angle, leading to inconsistent readings. It is generally not recommended for detecting thin transparent objects.
Q: Is this module compatible with 3.3V logic systems like the ESP32?
A: Yes, but please note that while the VCC should be 5V for the sensor to operate correctly, the Echo pin outputs 5V. You may need a voltage divider or a logic level converter to safely read the Echo signal on a 3.3V microcontroller.
Q: What is the minimum distance this sensor can accurately measure?
A: The specified minimum measuring distance is 2cm. Objects placed closer than 2cm may not be detected reliably or may return a constant low value due to the time required for the sound wave to settle after transmission.
Q: What is the difference between the HC-SR04 and the US-100 included in this listing?
A: Functionally they are very similar. The US-100 often features a slightly updated circuit design that offers better temperature compensation and stability compared to older HC-SR04 batches, though both use the same basic operating principle.
Q: Does the package include jumper wires?
