Excellent for learning electronics
Bought this for a university project on smart home systems. The documentation online is plentiful, and the module itself is very responsive. Highly recommend for beginners.

Great module, wish pins were labeled better
The sensor performs exactly as described. My only minor complaint is that the pin labels on the PCB are slightly small to read without a magnifier. Otherwise, perfect functionality.

Low power consumption
Using this in a battery-powered robot project. The current draw is very low in standby mode, which helps extend battery life. Detection is instant when motion occurs.

Perfect for Arduino Projects
This sensor works flawlessly with my Arduino Uno. The detection range is accurate, and the adjustment potentiometers make it easy to fine-tune sensitivity and delay times. Great value for the price.

Reliable bulk purchase
Ordered 20 units for our makerspace. All of them worked out of the box. The repeatable trigger mode is particularly useful for our security demo setups.

Good sensitivity but needs calibration
Works well for my hallway light automation. Initially, it was a bit too sensitive to heat changes, but after adjusting the blockade time pot, it stabilized nicely. Solid build quality.
Q: What is the difference between L and H trigger modes?
A: In L mode (non-repeatable), the output stays high for the set delay time regardless of continued motion. In H mode (repeatable), the timer resets with every new motion detection, keeping the output high as long as movement continues.
Q: Does it come with connecting wires?
A: No, the module is sold as a standalone component without pre-attached wires. You will need to solder header pins or wires to the three connection points: VCC, OUT, and GND.
Q: How do I adjust the detection distance?
A: The detection distance is primarily determined by the Fresnel lens and cannot be electronically adjusted via potentiometers. The pots on the board control delay time and blockade time only. To reduce range, you can partially cover the lens with tape.
Q: Is this compatible with 5V Raspberry Pi GPIO?
A: Yes, the module operates on 5V logic. However, ensure you connect the VCC to the 5V pin and the Output to a GPIO pin. Some users prefer a voltage divider for extra safety, but direct connection usually works fine for this specific module.
Q: Can this sensor detect motion through glass?
A: No, standard Fresnel lenses used in PIR sensors generally cannot detect infrared radiation through glass effectively. It is best installed with a clear line of sight.
