Easy to wire up
As a beginner, I found this very easy to connect. Just VCC, GND, and Signal. The documentation online is plentiful. It made my final year project much easier to complete.

Good value but sensitive to distance
Great sensor for the price. You do need to be careful with the gap between the magnet and the sensor; if it's too far, it won't trigger. Once calibrated, it works great for counting revolutions.

Works well for tachometer
Using this to build a digital tachometer for my RC car. It handles high speeds well without missing pulses. Only wish the cable was a bit longer, but that's a minor issue.

Reliable and Fast
I bought five of these for a conveyor belt counter project. They respond quickly and haven't failed yet after two weeks of continuous operation. Highly recommended for industrial prototyping.

Perfect for Arduino Projects
This module works flawlessly with my Arduino Uno. I used it to measure the RPM of a small DC motor, and the readings were stable and accurate. The LED indicator is very helpful for debugging.
Q: What is the maximum speed it can measure?
A: The sensor has a response frequency of up to 50kHz. This allows it to accurately measure very high motor speeds, typically sufficient for most hobby and light industrial applications.
Q: Can I use this outdoors?
A: The module itself is not waterproof. If you plan to use it outdoors, please enclose it in a weatherproof housing to protect the electronics from moisture and dust.
Q: Is the output normally open or normally closed?
A: The 3144 Hall switch typically pulls the output low when a magnetic south pole is detected. It acts as an open-collector output, so you may need a pull-up resistor depending on your microcontroller setup.
Q: Can this work with a 5V Raspberry Pi GPIO?
A: Yes, the module operates between 3.3V and 24V. It is fully compatible with 5V Raspberry Pi GPIO pins. Just ensure you connect the grounds together.
Q: Does this module come with a magnet?
A: No, this package includes only the sensor module. You will need to provide your own magnet for detection.
