Saves so much coding time
Unlike raw MPU-6050 modules, this one handles the DMP processing internally. I don't have to write complex fusion algorithms. It just sends the angle. Highly recommended for quick prototypes.

Solid build quality
I've mounted this on a vibrating motor test rig and it holds up well. The soldering points are robust, and the voltage regulator seems reliable even when powered at 5V.

Great for education
Bought five of these for a student workshop. They are forgiving for beginners since they don't require I2C troubleshooting. One unit had a noisy signal, but the other four were perfect.

Documentation could be better
The module works fine once you figure out the pinout, but the included paper manual was very sparse. Had to search online forums for the command set to change the baud rate.

Good value, needs calibration
Works as advertised. Out of the box, there was a slight offset, but the datasheet explains how to calibrate it easily. For the price, you can't beat the convenience of built-in processing.

Perfect for my self-balancing robot
The serial output makes integration incredibly easy. I connected it directly to my Arduino Uno and had angle data streaming within minutes. The readings are stable and accurate enough for hobbyist projects.
Q: Can this module work with a Raspberry Pi?
A: Yes, absolutely. Since it outputs standard TTL serial data, you can connect the TX pin of the GY-25 to a GPIO RX pin on your Raspberry Pi. Just ensure you share a common ground.
Q: What is the update rate of the angle data?
A: The default output rate is approximately 20Hz to 50Hz depending on the specific firmware batch, which is sufficient for most balance robots and camera gimbals.
Q: How do I reset the zero angle position?
A: You can send a specific serial command to recalibrate the zero point while the sensor is level. Please refer to the digital manual available in the 'Downloads' section of our website for the exact hex code.
Q: Is the cable included in the package?
A: The module comes with header pins soldered, but jumper wires are not included in the standard package. You will need to purchase male-to-female jumper wires separately.
Q: Does it support I2C communication as well?
A: No, the GY-25 is specifically designed to provide processed angle data via UART/Serial only. If you need raw I2C data, please consider our standard MPU-6050 breakout board instead.
