Solid performer
We bought ten of these for our workshop. Most work perfectly out of the box. One had a slightly noisy output but was still usable.

Reliable and cheap
Can't beat the price point. It does exactly what it says on the tin. Highly recommend for anyone needing basic current sensing.

Good accuracy, small footprint
Compact design fits well in tight enclosures. Accuracy is decent for hobbyist use, though professional lab equipment would be more precise.

Essential for motor current monitoring
I used this to monitor the current draw of a DC motor. It responded quickly to load changes and helped me tune my PID controller.

Great for learning electronics
Easy to understand datasheet and simple wiring. Helped me complete my university project on power consumption analysis.
Q: Is there a library available for this sensor?
A: Since it outputs a simple analog voltage, you don't need a specific library. You can read the value using the standard analogRead() function in Arduino and apply a conversion formula based on your shunt resistor.
Q: What is the maximum voltage this module can handle on the input side?
A: The INA169 chip can typically handle high-side voltages up to 60V, but please check the specific PCB trace ratings and ensure your power supply stays within safe limits for the components used.
Q: How do I change the current range?
A: You can change the measurable current range by replacing the onboard shunt resistor with one of a different resistance value. Lower resistance allows for higher current measurement.
Q: Does this come with headers soldered?
A: Typically, these modules are shipped with unsoldered pin headers to allow for flexible mounting options. You will need to solder them yourself or use jumper wires directly.
Q: Can I use this to measure AC current?
A: No, the GY-169 with the INA169 chip is designed specifically for DC high-side current measurement. For AC current, you would need a different sensor type like a CT clamp or an ACS712 module.
