Great value, minor documentation gaps
The hardware quality is solid and the readings match our benchtop spectrometer surprisingly well for the price point. Deducting one star because the datasheet could be clearer on register mapping for the flicker detection mode. Otherwise, a great purchase.

Easy to use for beginners
As someone new to embedded sensors, I found this module very forgiving. It worked out of the box with the example code for ESP32. The color temperature readings help me understand ambient lighting conditions for my smart home dashboard.

Perfect for smart lighting calibration
I used this to calibrate a custom LED grow light system. The ability to measure specific wavelengths allows for precise tuning of the light spectrum. The breakout board pins are well-labeled and easy to solder.

Good for photography accessories
Building a custom light meter for film photography. The sensor responds quickly to changes in illuminance. It's not quite as fast as dedicated photography gear, but for the cost and programmability, it's an excellent choice.

Reliable for educational kits
We bought ten of these for our university robotics lab. They have held up well under student use and provide reliable data for our line-following and object recognition experiments. The multi-channel capability is a huge plus.
