Perfect for my robotic gripper project
These sensors are incredibly responsive and easy to integrate with Arduino. The flexibility allows them to conform perfectly to curved surfaces on my robot hand.
Q: What is the maximum weight this sensor can measure before breaking?
A: While the optimal range is up to 10 kg, the sensor can physically withstand higher loads. However, accuracy decreases significantly beyond 10 kg, and excessive force may damage the thin film over time.
Q: Do I need a specific resistor for the voltage divider circuit?
A: A 10kΩ pull-down resistor is commonly recommended for general-purpose applications with the FSR402, but you can adjust this value based on your specific force range requirements.
Q: Can this sensor detect very light touch, like a feather?
A: The FSR402 has a minimum detection threshold of approximately 0.1 kg (100g). It is not sensitive enough to detect extremely light touches like a feather.
Q: Can these be cut to size to fit smaller areas?
A: No, cutting the sensor will damage the internal circuitry and render it non-functional. Please select a model with an active area that fits your design needs.
Q: Is this compatible with Raspberry Pi?
A: Yes, it is compatible. Since the sensor outputs an analog signal, you will need an external ADC (Analog-to-Digital Converter) module to interface it with a Raspberry Pi.
