Great sensitivity, needs calibration

The sensor detects even light touches accurately. However, you do need to spend time calibrating the ADC readings to get precise force measurements. Once set up, it performs very well for our packaging line tests.

Excellent build quality

I've tested several FSR brands, and Flexiforce remains the gold standard. The A201 module is robust, and the solder pads hold up well during repeated prototyping cycles. Highly recommended for engineering students.

Perfect for robotics grippers

These sensors are incredibly thin and responsive. I used the 25lb version for a robotic hand project, and the feedback loop works flawlessly. The development module makes wiring much easier than dealing with raw film.

Compact and reliable

Good value for development kits

Buying the module instead of just the raw sensor saved me a lot of time on circuit design. The only reason for 4 stars is that the included documentation could be more detailed regarding noise filtering.

Works exactly as specified

Used the 100lb range for a pressure mat prototype. The linearity is better than expected for this price point. It integrates easily with Arduino and Raspberry Pi platforms using standard voltage divider circuits.

Q: What is the maximum voltage I can apply to the sensor?

A: The sensor itself is passive and resistive, but we recommend keeping the excitation voltage below 5V to prevent self-heating effects that could alter reading accuracy.

Q: How long is the warranty on the development module?

A: All our development modules come with a standard 1-year limited warranty covering manufacturing defects. Physical damage from improper soldering is not covered.

Q: Is the 1lb range sensitive enough for typing detection?

A: Absolutely. The 1lb model is highly sensitive and is frequently used in keyboard prototypes and touch interface applications where light force detection is required.

Q: Can these sensors be submerged in water?

A: The standard A201 sensors are not waterproof. For wet environments, we recommend looking at our coated or encapsulated versions designed specifically for moisture resistance.

Q: Do you provide sample code for Arduino?

A: Yes, we host a library and example sketches on our GitHub repository that demonstrate how to read analog values and convert them to force units in pounds or Newtons.
