Good value, clear instructions needed
The hardware quality is solid and the relay clicks loudly when triggered. I deducted one star because the pinout diagram on the back is a bit faint. Once I found a tutorial online, it worked great.

Works well but needs calibration
Great sensor module. Just remember to spend time calibrating the potentiometer in the environment where you will use it, otherwise ambient light might trigger false positives.

Perfect for my safety project
This module worked exactly as described. The sensitivity adjustment is very responsive, allowing me to tune it specifically for candle flames versus larger heat sources. Integration with my Arduino Uno was seamless.

Reliable fire detection
Using this as part of a custom home monitoring system. It detects a lighter flame from about 80cm away consistently. Very happy with the purchase.

Easy for beginners
As someone new to electronics, I found this very easy to wire up. The three pins are clearly labeled, and there are plenty of code examples available online.
Q: Does this module output analog or digital signals?
A: This specific 2-in-1 module provides a digital switching output (HIGH/LOW) via the DO pin. It does not provide an analog voltage reading proportional to flame intensity.
Q: What is the maximum current the onboard relay can handle?
A: The onboard relay is typically rated for small loads (approx. 1A at 250VAC or 30VDC). For high-power devices, please use the signal output to trigger an external, higher-capacity relay.
Q: Does the package include jumper wires?
A: No, the package includes only the sensor module. Jumper wires and microcontroller boards are sold separately.
Q: Can this be powered by 3.3V instead of 5V?
A: While the sensor itself might react at 3.3V, the module is designed for 5V operation to ensure the comparator and relay function reliably. We recommend sticking to 5V for best performance.
Q: Is this sensitive enough to detect a cigarette ember?
A: The sensor is optimized for open flames which emit specific infrared wavelengths. A glowing cigarette ember may not produce enough IR radiation to trigger the alarm consistently unless very close.
